  • The Dock Master Plan. Before anybody prepares a permit application, check the Daniel Island Dock Master Plan on file with the state to see if your lot's eligible. Check your deed restrictions too.
  • ARB approval. Boat dock plans have to be approved by the Architectural Review Board. ARB: (843) 881-6122. POA: 843-971-9200.
  • The state permit. You still need the SCDES critical area permit. Being on the master plan doesn't mean you'll get one.
  • City of Charleston. Check with the City of Charleston's Permit Center too.
